Women led enterprises experience more success and lesser failures when compared to their male counterparts. Yet venture investments don’t reflect this.
To quote Business Insider France, Elisabeth Hu reported, “enterprises founded or co-founded by women receive about $935,000 in investments on average, while those founded by men receive an average of about $2.1 million. However, Hu reported, for every dollar of funding, startups founded by women generate 78 cents, compared to 31 cents for startups founded by men”.
Billennium Divas fund is formed to change that. It is an early-stage micro-equity fund investing in the exponential power of exceptionally talented women entrepreneurs. It’s a sector agnostic fund, for and by women.

a survey says.
However, Indian statistics talk something else. According to Sixth Economic Census released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, women constitute around 14% of the total entrepreneurship i.e. 8.05 million out of the total 58.5 million entrepreneurs, noted the Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu.
Out of this, 2.76 million women constituting 13.3% of women entrepreneurs work in agriculture sector whereas 5.29 million women constituting more than 65% work in non-agriculture sector. The average employment in women-owned enterprises is meager 1.67.
